The Nigerian Union of Journalist NUJ described Governor Umar Namadi as an outstanding governor in the areas of agriculture and youth Empowerment.
The National president of the Association, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, stated this when he paid a visit along side National, Zonal, and state officers of the union to Governor Umar Namadi shortly after the National Executive Council Meeting held in Dutse,

Yahaya also commended Governor Namadi for sponsoring the association’s national convention.
Responding, Governor Umar Namadi thanked the Press Association for choosing Jigawa State to host its national convention and assured the association of the state government’s continued support.
